Want to Survive 2012? Buy a Ticket! Plus We Have the Winner Of the Post-2012 Election!

Update: Soren has now blogged about the tickets, saying we need to pursue this because it’s our only lead. What I found interesting was that he didn’t know the ark was real.

I had no idea that there was a Naaczaal, much less that there were passes, nor that they were actually being manufactured.

People don’t draw up schematics for nothing, Soren! There is some speculation that Satnam might be the new mystery man, but we’ll have to wait and see.

With just over a week until 2012 opens in theaters, we have a new viral website. The site has the not-so-subtle title “Naaczaal Tix for sale“, and it’s run by an unknown disgruntled ex-employee looking to stick it to the man. Apparently, wherever this guy worked, he was able to swipe an actual ticket to the Naaczaal arks ARC and the IHC are building. You should remember the arks from our countless dead drops around the country. Now he is putting it up for auction to get back at his former company and giving the money to charity. Take a look at the high-tech ticket below.

Now, as you can tell by clicking the link above, the auction is very much like the District 9 gun auction, where it’s actually being marketed on Ebay as a prop from the movie, but it’s pretty cool nonetheless. At the writing of this article, the current bid is only $51, so it’s not a bad deal, though there are still over 9 days left.

What’s interesting about the site is the question that popped up in my mind. Who is this guy? We know he worked at a place that had at least one of the tickets, and that he was fired (seemingly without good cause). It couldn’t be Soren Ulfert or the man being Corruption Theory, because they both know, at least in some way, what Naaczaal is. This guy clearly does not, as he says the following in his first post on the site:

I dunno what the hell these things are for but I promise it’s got to be a big deal.

Soren, along with Charlie, tweeted about the new website, but both seem surprised. The Corruption Theory man could possibly just be playing dumb, because in his latest post he talks about how the time for action is near. The only problem is, it seems like he still has his job. So, who is this new character in the 2012 viral campaign? Let us know what you think!

In other 2012 campaign news, Michael S. has won the Leader of the Post-2012 World Election. The IHC election website has not been updated yet, but Michael was just told about his win yesterday, so if learn anything more about his win, we’ll let you know. Congratulations Michael, and we hope you have fun in Cancun!
Update: News Done Right, part of the 2012 viral campaign, actually reported on the victory yesterday, though the IHC site still has not been updated.

2012 opens nationwide November 13th. You can discuss these updates to the viral in the comments below, or on our forum. Also check out the MovieViral 2012 page for more info on the film and its viral campaign.
