The last few days have brought lots of news bites on James Cameron’s Avatar, so here’s just a few of the ones that caught our eye.
We already know that Ubisoft is making a video game for film, set to be released on December 1st
60 Minutes on CBS had a segment covering the film last night, which you can watch on their official website. They talk partly about the film and partly about Cameron himself and his career.

The Wall Street Journal has an article stating that the film’s running time is 150 minutes (2.5 hours) before credits, and almost 30 minutes of the film are not done. Nothing to fear, as the production plans on being done in time.
In my favorite story of the week, we now know that the language used by the Na’vi is a real dialect, thanks to io9. Paul Frommer, a Hollywood linguistic consultant, actually developed an entire language for the Na’vi to speak that is complete with its own grammar and syntax. He’s hoping it will flourish in pop culture like Klingon has. Maybe we’ll see a Na’vi dictionary sometime in the future.
We also have a few new foreign posters thanks to FilmStage, including this one:
Avatar opens December 18th.
