For those who have been following us since at least the summer, you may remember the viral campaign for Judd Apatow’s Funny People. One of my favorite sites from that campaign was the homepage for George Simmons (Adam Sandler). In it, you were able to see clips and trailers for some of the movies Simmons has starred in. Of course, the movies are fictional, as they are just part of defining the character for the movie. What made the clips so great were how cheesy and bad they were.
Luckily, FunnyorDie (who did participate in the Funny People viral) caught on created their own “so bad its good” trailer, this time starring Tim Allen in a very special family comedy called Arbor Daze. Take a look below.
The trailer does a great job of spoofing all those movies in which a character (usually a father figure) has a major flaw, so he magically changes somehow in order to finally realize the flaw and its consequences (see: Liar Liar and Allen’s own The Shaggy Dog). Fortunately, there is a bit more fun to be had with this. FunnyorDie has created a website for the movie itself, and while it doesn’t have much to offer right now, they may update it in the future. We can only hope.
