Last month we told you about the Day X Exists website for the action spy movie Salt starring Angelina Jolie. Now the game within the site has officially launched, and you have a chance to do what every guy dreams: catch Angelina Jolie. Check out the details after the break.
The episodic game consists of weekly tasks and videos that unveil the web exclusive story over a nine week period. Each week you watch a video and participate in a mission. If you win, you get more of the story through hidden codes in videos and other content. There’s even a leaderboard to track how well you are doing. Fortunately, when a new game is introduced every Tuesday, you can still play even if it’s your first visit, since the site offers the chance to catch up .
The story so far goes as such. You are part of the “Day X Taskforce”, assigned to bring in fellow agent Evelyn Salt (Jolie). Salt is suspected of being involved in ‘Day X’, some sort of expected terrorist plot involving sleeper agents that occurs on July 23rd (the day of the film’s theatrical release). However, Salt has chosen you to help her clear her name. The game uses Facebook Connect (what game doesn’t anymore?) to make it more personal, which is aided by the videos’ first person point of view.

Salt, starring Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber, is directed by Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, The Saint) and written by Kurt Wimmer (The Thomas Crown Affair, Law Abiding Citizen) and Brian Helgeland (Conspiracy Theory, Robin Hood). Columbia Pictures releases the film in theaters on July 23rd.
