Bungie’s Newest Project Has An Easter Egg Too

Bungie has been known to go into viral every once in a while. Halo 3: ODST had a humorous interaction with the superintendent A.I. “Virgil” and recently a site about Bungie Aerospace. To this day nothing much has changed, besides a little latin phrase. Find out more about “per audacia ad astra” after the jump.

First off, know this: there’s still no word on what the aerospace project really is, but considerable speculation has linked it to Halo Reach’s Space Combat gameplay and starting a new branch of their company. That “per audacia ad astra” is a bugger though. However, a fan-run blog has made quite a connection.

When translated, it says “boldly going into space.” Sound familiar? Well, if your not a trekkie, here’s another quote:

Space… the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before.

Yep, Bungie’s masterful easter egg skills are shown once again. Not only is it a reference to Virgil, it also hints to Star Trek’s famous opening quote.  Nice one, Bungie, nice one.

We’ll keep an eye on any recent changes, we do go beyond just movie viral news, so check in for any new stuff we find, or share it with us in the comments.
