He may be a prolific producer, writer, and director, but David Lynch is not above asking strangers for money. He is hoping you can spare some change to help him fund his latest project. Lynch’s creative mind has brought such classics as Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive to the silver screen as well as one of the biggest cult TV successes of all time, Twin Peaks, which recently celebrated its 20 year anniversary. Lynch has more recently been working on a trilogy called Lynch Three, a documentary that looks at his life and the work he has been involved in and that is where you come in. More after the jump.
For the final film, Lynch is looking for you: the discerning movie-goer to donate $50. For your $50 you’ll get a print of his “abstract self-portrait” or a T-shirt and perhaps more interesting is the opportunity to submit a question to the man himself. If the question is good enough it will appear in the documentary which will span his career right up till 2006.
It’s an interesting concept, and it has been tried before, Kevin Smith being the most recent director looking for funds to Red State, but will you be interested to contribute?
