One of the biggest events to come out of San Diego Comic-Con 2010 was AMC’s panel for The Walking Dead. MovieViral’s Dan was at the panel (you can read the live blog here) first hand and loved the footage shown. Watch the full 4 minute re-cut trailer for The Walking Dead below!
The Walking Dead is the story of a small town cop Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he wakes up in a completely different world after being in a coma for a moth — a world taken over by the undead. The show is Rick’s journey as he looks for his wife Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) and his son Carl (Chanlder Riggs). Comic series and show executive producer Robert Kirkman says The Walking Dead is “the zombie movie that continues when the movie is over”. The Walking Dead will be on AMC next to Mad Men and Breaking Bad in the networks line up. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are two of my favorite shows of all time.
The songs used in the trailer are Mr. Splitfoot by Paris Motel and The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore by The Walker Brothers. The Walking Dead premieres on AMC on Halloween at 10/9 Central and will have a 90 minute pilot episode with hour long episodes after that.
