Trailers Weekly: The Tourist, Tangled, The Fighter, and The Dilemma

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have a bunch of first trailers, so feast your eyes on fresh content.

The Tourist (December 10, 2010)

This Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck directed film from Columbia Picture stars Johnny Depp as an American tourist in Europe who gets caught up in a mess after meeting Angelina Jolie. Looks a lot like a gender-reversed version of Knight and Day. However, it also looks more sophisticated and has Paul Bettany, so I’m intrigued.

Tangled (November 24, 2010)

Disney looks move into CGI animation while keeping their classic look with their sassy remake of the fairy tale Rapunzel. There were actually two versions of the trailer released this week, so here’s the longer one.

The Fighter (December 10, 2010)

This Rocky-like film from Paramount Pictures is based on the true story of ‘Irish’ Micky Ward, who is played by Mark Wahlberg. Ward was a boxer who made a comeback in the mid 90s. Christian Bale plays his half-brother and trainer Dickie Eklund. The trailer is just begging for award nominations.

The Dilemma (January 14, 2011)

What do you do when you find out your best friend’s wife is having an affair? That’s “the dilemma” that Vince Vaughn’s character faces in this Ron Howard comedy from Universal. Kevin James plays the unfortunate best friend and Winona Ryder is the cheating wife. Other notables are Jennifer Connelly as Vaughn’s wife, and a tattooed Channing Tatum as the homewrecker. It looks pretty funny, but this is no Dodgeball.
