It’s been a year since our feature The Buzz was last updated, but now we are back and for good this time. The Buzz is a feature in which we round up the Top 3 most-buzzed-about movie/TV stories of the week (in chronological order). Why go through pages of blogs just to find out what everyone is talking about? We’ve got it all right here.
1) Ashton Kutcher To Play Steve Jobs
This news popped up on April 1st, leading many to believe it was an April Fools prank, but alas it is true. The star of That 70’s Show and Dude Where’s My Car? will be playing the iconic co-founder of Apple Inc. in an upcoming independent film called Jobs. Though there is a slight resemblance, Ashton’s limited acting appeal has led the Internet feedback to be rather negative. [/Film]
2) Raging Bull II Is Being Made
I’m a fan of Martin Scorcese’s Raging Bull, based on the book that tells the true story of boxer Jake LaMotta, but even I know that there was a sequel to the book written in the 80s. Now the film Raging Bull II is set to begin production in June, with William Forsythe playing an older LaMotta. The story is more about LaMotta’s younger years, and director Martin Guigui is still looking to cast the part. [/Film]
3) Captain America 2 Release Date Announced
With the much-anticipated The Avengers less than a month away, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Studios have announced the release date for Captain America 2: April 4th, 2014. The film will pick up after the events in The Avengers, as Steve Rogers adjusts to the modern world. This means that Cap survives the epic team-up movie next month, but that shouldn’t be a surprise.
