Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. Rewind This!
Josh Johnson directs this documentary about the evolution of home entrainment media with a deeper focus on the VHS platform. Some entertainment experts like Drew McWeeny, and other home entertainment lovers share their knowledge and experience about the nostalgic VHS tape. The documentary originally started out as a $20,000 kickstarter project. No word yet on a release date, but the film will premiere at this years SXSW.
Fast & Furious 6
Bigger, badder, faster, and more furious, Justin Lin returns to direct the sixth installment of the Fast and Furious franchise, Fast and Furious 6. Vin Disel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne Johnson, and other familiar faces of the Fast and Furious franchise return to reprise their respective roles to stop a powerful criminal. The film hits theaters on May 24.
Big Ass Spiders
Big Ass Spiders makes Los Angeles look so small. The first trailer for the sure to be cult hit has debuted online and as you can expect from the trailer alone, the film features big ass spiders. Directed by Mike Mendez and written by Gregory Gieras, the film stars Ray Wise and Greg Grunberg.
Hours
Paul Walker also stars in this high intense drama about a man who tries to keep his daughter alive during the rioting, looting, and chaos of the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. No worth yet on when the film could hit theaters, but it will debut at SXSW this year.
Room 237
The second trailer to Rodney Ascher’s Room 237, a documentary based on Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining as debuted online. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year and was quickly snatched by IFC Films. Room 237 will debut in limited theaters and VOD on March 29th of this year.
