Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have trailers for Snowpiercer, Elysium, 300: Rise Of An Empire, In A World…, and Only God Forgives. Hit the jump for more.
Frozen
Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee (writer of Wreck-It Ralph) direct this charming adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen, featuring the voices of Kristen Bell as Anna, a member of the royal family, and Indina Menzel as her older sister, the Snow Queen. DIsney will release the film November 27, 2013.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues
Like the title says, the Legend Continues. Will Ferrell reprises his role as Ron Burgundy, as well as the rest of the cast reprising their respective roles. The hard hitting 1970s news crew find some redemption when a 24-hour news format gives them an opportunity to work together. The film opens December 20, 2013.
The Lego Movie
While we wait for a live-action Justice League movie to happen, WB has figured out a wait to feature some of the biggest DC Comics heroes in one film: feature them in The Lego Movie. That’s right, those tiny yellow figurines are being featured in their own movie, and they feature the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Allison Brie, and many many more. Who would have thought that they would come together for such a movie involving legos. The film opens in theaters on February 7, 2014.
The Wolf OF Wall Street
It seems fitting that Kayne West’s song play during Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf Of Wall Street. The film starring Leonardo DiCaprio is based on actual events, and centers on a young stock broker who has excess amounts of money, sex, and drugs, who then has to deal with the FBI when he reaches the point of too much is never enough. The Wolf of Wall Street also stars Kyle Chandler, and Jonah Hill. The film opens in theaters on November 15, 2013.
The Spectacular Now
One of my favorite films of the LA Film Festival also was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival. Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller star in this coming of age film about living in the now and breaking out of your shell. When Teller’s easy going life finally comes at a crossroads, he has to decide to continue being the life of the party or grow up to be better than his old man. The film opens in theaters on August 2.
