It almost seemed too fitting to see a Muppets Most Wanted ad right under the Fox Broadcasters just before the game kicked off. Kermit and the gang are experiencing a resurgence after the events of The Muppets. Taking their act to Europe, Kermit gets caught in a crime caper when he is mistaken for another frog who is actually one of the world’s most notorious criminals.
Featuring everyone’s favorite Muppets, plus human actors like Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, and Ty Burrell, plus cameos by Danny Trejo, Tom Hiddleston, and more, hit the jump to see the Super Bowl Spot For Muppets Most Wanted.
The ad also features the same Twitter users that we have seen in past TV spots, plus it also acknowledges the previous spots that were aired during the Golden Globes and on the internet.
Muppets Most Wanted opens in theaters on March 21.
Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted” takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters in some of Europe’s most exciting destinations, including Berlin, Madrid, Dublin and London. But mayhem follows the Muppets overseas, as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper headed by Constantine—the World’s Number One Criminal and a dead ringer for Kermit the Frog—and his dastardly sidekick Dominic, aka Number Two, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. The film stars Tina Fey as Nadya, a feisty prison guard, and Ty Burrell as Interpol agent Jean Pierre Napoleon.
