Trailers Weekly: “Birdman”, “The Zero Theorem”, “The Interview”, “Home”, And More


Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Home, Birdman, The Interview, The Zero Theorem, and Dumb and Dumber Too. Hit the jump to see them all.

Rihanna and Jim Parsons starring in a film together may sound unusual at first, but for a family friendly comedy, I guess it makes sense. The two lend their voices for DreamWorks Animation’s Home, which centers on an alien, Oh (Parsons), who has been exiled by his own kind; and Tip (Rihanna), who will help Oh stop another alien race from conquering the earth. Home opens in theaters on March 27, 2015. Tim Johnson (Over the Hedge) directed.

Michael Keaton used to play a superhero, now in Birdman, he plays an actor who used to play as a superhero, but is struggling to mount a new play, while dealing with his ego whose physical embodiment is his former superhero role. Director Alejandro González Iñárritu, best known for serious fare like Amores Perros, 21 Grams, and Babel directed. Emma Stone, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, Amy Ryan, and Zach Galifianakis also star. Birdman open October 17.

The Interview
James Franco and Seth Rogen team up once again for another comedy of epic porportions. This time the two star in The Interview. In the film Franco plays a talk show host whose interview with Kim Jong-un gets turned into a mission to assassinate the North Korean dictator. Rogen will play has Franco’s producer. The film also stars Lizzy Caplan and Randall Park. Rogen co-directed with Evan Goldberg. The Interview opens on October 10.

Dumb and Dumber Too
Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are back for more dumb comedy in Dumb and Dumber Too. It’s been almost 20 years since the first film debuted, and now we find out that Harry had a daughter during that time. So of course they head out to find her, and all sorts of hilarious antics ensue. Directed by the Farrelly Brothers, Dumb and Dumber Too opens in theaters on November 14.

The Zero Theorem
An eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence – or the lack thereof -once and for all. However, it is only once he experiences the power of love and desire that he is able to understand his very reason for being. Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry, and Lucas Hedges star. There is no US release date.
