Time Magazine Ranks Top Ten Star Wars Fan Films Alex Gerage, August 25, 2010 Star Wars has always been a great source for fan films. Dan reported a few days back about the fan reenactment project called Star Wars Uncut, but dozens of original stories relating to the beloved space saga have popped up on the internet for the past decade. Time realized this, and asked fans to submit their choices for their favorite fan made films. The votes have since been counted, and the magazine has released the top ten most popular Star Wars fan films. See if your favorite made the cut after the jump. Arguably the biggest surprise with Time’s list is that they decided not to include a fifth place fan film, for which there is yet an explanation. Most of the selections are long time YouTube hits and highly regarded amongst Star Wars fans. Troops, with its pitch perfect references to COPS, earned the top spot (which you can watch below), while other favorites like Hardware Wars and Sith Apprentice (my personal favorite) were also represented. Although many of you have seen these films and a top ten list may seem unnecessary, Time was able to speak to many of the films’ creators, and their commentary makes it worth checking out. If you would like to view the films in their entirety, Collider has them all posted for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to offer your thoughts on your favorite Star Wars fan films in the comments section below. Fan Made Work Viral News Viral Videos Fan FilmFan MadeStar Warstime
