This Week In Viral – New Forum Edition Dan Koelsch, April 19, 2009March 27, 2010 With our forum going through a transition phase during our upgrade, getting all the viral info is a bit complicated, so here’s just a brief review of some updates this week. Star Trek – Lots more info from those dance party pics. Check out Trek Movie’s anaylsis and our forum for more details. Terminator Salvation – Resistorbeterminated.com has a new layout, as predicted a few weeks ago by staff writer David. Check out the site for a few new posts in the past week. District 9 – Teaser trailer scheduled for this weekend was pulled at last minute, but we did get the first official photo released by Entertainment Weekly. 2012 – When site owner Nick sent an email to The IHC website asking how they know the world’s going to end, this is the response he got:Greetings,As the Communications Director of the Institute for Human Continuity, I’d like to thank you for taking an active role in preparing yourself for 2012. Please note your ticket is only valid for one person. Therefore, we strongly suggest that you encourage your friends and family to register for lottery numbers at TheIHC.com.The IHC has uncovered evidence indicating that the disasters of 2012 are both real and unavoidable. We believe with 94% certainty that exactly four years from today, cataclysmic events will devastate our planet and many who inhabit it. December 21, 2012 cannot be ignored.Though the future is uncertain, there are several things we can and must do to prepare. You have already begun by entering the IHC lottery and visiting our website. In the coming weeks, I will be hosting an online discussion during which I will answer your questions and provide additional knowledge on how you can continue to prepare. You may submit your written questions to me via twitter and email. We will also be accepting video questions and will have more details for you in the coming weeks.I look forward to receiving your questions and working together to ensure that the end is just the beginning.Sincerely,Dr. Sorën Ulfert, PhD Communications Director The Institute for Human Continuity Twitter: sorenulfert Email: s.ulfert@TheIHC.comSo the big thing I learned from that is there is a new Twitter to follow (@sorenulfert). Looking at the IHC’s site again, I noticed a new site: http://www.farewellatlantis.com. This is the site for John Cusack’s character’s book. Misc. – By the way, I’ve noticed a trend with 2012 and District 9. Now at least some of their sites are listing all the viral sites on the bottom of the page, with the text “Explore the (movie title) experience.” These are both Sony films, so that explains the similarities, but I’m hoping this doesn’t become a larger trend with official viral websites, because it loses some of the fun of following viral. I’ll probably post a more detailed article about this later. That’s it for this week’s TWIV. As always, our staff can only cover a fraction of the news, so to keep up-to-date, go to our Official Forum. Keep searching for viral, you never know where you’ll catch it.
