Alice in Wonderland Sends Out Book and Key To Bloggers

Our friends at Firstshowing got a nice little present in the mail yesterday in the form of an Alice in Wonderland book full of surprises. In fact, there were books inside books (like those Russian dolls), and a USB drive shaped like a 19th century key. Pretty impressive set up, but there’s even more.

Alice In Wonderland

The USB key apparently just had the trailer photos we’ve already seen, but there was a note reading “Read Me” (in very Wonderland fashion). Here’s what Alex from Firstshowing had to say about it:

The other note I got came on a blue slip of paper. It read: “Greetings! The proper spelling of Alice’s last name is KINGSLEIGH. That’s Kings-L-E-I-G-H… not L-E-Y. Thank you. Sincereleigh ~ Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures Publicity.” I’m not sure if that’s a joke or a hidden message or what, but I feel like there’s something else there. I’m going to keep searching the books and scouring the web to find more. I did notice that in one of the books, the second to smallest one that’s labeled “Characters” it spells Alice’s name as “Kingsley.” Maybe there’s something going on? Or else Disney was just correcting a spelling mistake.

Alex doesn’t think it’s a full-on viral game, but we’ll have to wait and see. I haven’t heard of any other bloggers getting the package, but if you do, let us know! To see more of the books and note, check out Alex’s article or the short video he made embedded below:

Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton and based off the book “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, opens nationwide on March 5th.

Update: As I expected, other bloggers also got the promo package, including Latino Review, who have some videos on their site, so check that out.
