Trailers Weekly: Gulliver’s Travels, The Last Airbender, The Expendables, Norwegian Ninja, and More!

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we’ve already talked about the Scott Pilgrim trailer, but we also have trailers for Gulliver’s Travels, The Last Airbender, Thirteen Assassins, The Expendables, and Norwegian Ninja. See them all after the break.

Gulliver’s Travels

Usually, bad trailers come and go without much hoopla, but every film blog I know completely trashed the first trailer for Gulliver’s Travels (December 22nd), which stars Jack Black and Emily Blunt. While I like the idea of updating the classic to a modern time comedy, I’m not convinced on the execution.

The Last Airbender

M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender (July 2nd) got a pretty cool Japanese trailer this week. I’ve never watched the TV series this is based on, but from the trailers, the movie looks promising.

Thirteen Assassins

Takashi Miike is one of the best known Japanese directors, and his latest film, Thirteen Assassins (September 25th, Japan), looks to continue his popularity in the States with this international trailer.

The Expendables

Sylvester Stallone’s no-holds-barred action film The Expendables (August 13th), features almost every big action star in the past 25 years. The latest trailer focuses on the high-profile ensemble cast, and aside from close-ups of the actors’ faces, features no actual footage. Very stylistic, but weird.

Norwegian Ninja

You have to check out this insane trailer for Norwegian Ninja (August 13th, Norway), made by the producers of Dead Snow. The film is loosely based on a true story, and tells how a special ninja group saved Norway during the Cold War.

Of course, every week there are a lot more trailers, teasers, TV spots, and clips that we can’t cover, so go to TrailerAddict.com to see your favorites, and to watch at least some of the ones above in High Definition. You can also download trailers in HD at Apple.com. Saw a trailer this week that you loved? Let us know in the comments below!
