Major Back To the Future Reunion and Re-Creation To Benefit Parkinson’s

Dan Koelsch, November 4, 2010

Remember, remember, the fifth of November…though not for any Vendetta. November 5th marks an important day in cinema time travel, as this is the date in 1955 that Marty McFly goes back to in Back to the Future. For that special occasion, along with the 25th anniversary of the film’s release, Burbank, CA will be host to a large-scale reunion and re-creation to benefit Parkinson’s Disease research. Get the details after the break.

The “We’re Going Back” 25th Anniversary celebration for Back to the Future is quite extensive, dubbing itself “The Largest BTTF only reunion in history”. The schedule spans a whole week and looks to re-create memorable scenes from the film, culminating in an Enchantment Under The Sea dance to be hosted in the same location as it did in the film. The dance will be MC’d by Harry Waters Jr., who played band leader Marvin Berry. Other guest appearances include many of the crew, as well as cast members Claudia Wells (Marty’s girlfriend Jennifer), James Tolkan (Principal Strickland), Donald Fullilove (Mayor Goldie Wilson), and much more.

While tickets have sold out for the complete experience (which went for a whopping $600), select events are still available, so snatch them up quick. If you go, take pictures and send them to us! Go to WereGoingBack.com for more details and tickets. All proceeds go to Team Fox, the Parkinsons’ research foundation created by Michael J. Fox. The event is endorsed by BTTF.com.

Red Letter Media Is Back With 110 Minute Review of “Revenge of the Sith”

January 1, 2011

The guys at Red Letter Media have made a name for themselves doing long multi-video scathing reviews of (usually) terrible films. Their style is unique in that a demented character named Plinkett narrates the review and occasionally interrupts to say or do something disturbing. Despite the crude humor, the critiques…

I really hope the year of 2015 introduces the world with another Back To The Future. Hopefully we don’t have to see Zac Efron as as Marty or even his son. It would be great if Zemeckis used Billy Zane’s 3D glasses wearing character. Already in 2010 he’s doing awesome films like Attack On Darfur. Check this one out.

3-D was Casey Siemaszko, not Billy Zane (Match). The only way I see another movie being made, is if it was all CGI / motion capture, due to Michael J. Fox’s current condition. Bob Z. did Beowulf this way; with original George McFly Crispin Glover no less. Crispin apparently got along well that time with Bob, so I guess he’d be open to working with him again (Bob G. however, is another story). And for all the people who said they would never make a Back to the Future Part IV, well, they never promised not to make a Forward to the Past Part I, II & III, did they? 😉 Bring on 2015!!!
