The Underworld Hacks “Real Steel” Press Kits Dan Koelsch, September 8, 2011September 7, 2011 Our friends over at FusedFilm got a pretty cool Real Steel press kit on Wednesday that actually involves the World Robot Boxing viral campaign we have been covering. It looks like an anti-WRB group called “The Underworld” has found a way to make its presence known. If you’ve been following our coverage of the Real Steel campaign, then you know that on the WRB website you can learn about the history of the robot boxing league featured in the film, as well as customize your own robot to train and now fight. DreamWorks sent Kevin Coll of FusedFilm a Press Kit for the film, which included a bunch of cool stuff like a t-shirt, toy, and two VIP tickets to the September 8, 2020 online fight of Noisy Boy and his custom bot (see photos on their site). Since the film is set in 2020, we can assume that fight will be online tonight (Thursday), but it might not be that simple. The package also included a note from The Underground, which reads: “Attention all TRUE fight fans! We heard the WRB was sending you this package, so we thought we’d include a note and make our presence known….but it won’t be the last you hear from us. After all, if we can infiltrate a mailer, just think what we can do to their precious website. This Thursday, go to the WRB.com to see a real bot fight. — The Underworld” So, tonight should be pretty interesting, and we’ll obviously let you know what happens!
