I first learned about zomBcon, the world’s first zombie convention, at WonderCon earlier this year. I was immediately fascinated, especially since some pretty impressive people had been in attendance at last year’s inaugural convention. Just last month was the convention’s second go around, but they are now in need of help to keep going. Learn more after the break.
The organization’s official website explains the details, but basically they need donations to have a convention next year. Below is the breakdown of their fundraising goals.
FUNDRAISING GOALS TO HIT
$50,000 – pays off our current 2011 debts and keep the tradition alive
$75,000 – Keep the ZomBcon company alive and our team to begin looking at 2012 as a strong possibility.
$125,000 – Greenlights ZomBcon 2012 for Seattle for 2012
$250,000 – Keeps ZomBcon in Seattle for 2012 and 2013
$500,000 – Keeps ZomBcon in Seattle permanently and greenlights ZomBcon International E-Zine
You can donate on IndieGoGo. While I couldn’t make it this year, I am definitely planning to attend next year if the convention is still on, so please help make that happen!
