Strange Noises Heard Around The World Could Have Scientific Explanation Dan Koelsch, January 27, 2012January 27, 2012 Earlier this week, we reported on a phenomenon sweeping the Internet in which strange noises were heard around the world. These roars/groans from the sky are a bit frightening, which may have contributed to videos of the occurance flooding YouTube (along with many hoaxes). While we considered the idea that the sounds were some kind of marketing ploy, we now have at least one scientific explanation that might resolve this issue. Find out after the jump. I was surfing YouTube last night when I found the video below. It’s a news report from Canadian channel CTV that talks about the sounds.The professor in the clip explains that the sounds are coming from the Aurora Borealis (aka the Northern Lights) causing electromagnetic noise within nearby environmental antennas. It sounds a bit like the Roswell weather ballon explanation to me, especially since these noises have not been heard before (at least not recently, since this is the first time the Internet has been up in arms about it). I heard the noise..kept me up 1/27 in Central Wisconsin. Am willing to believe there is a logical explanation, such as electromagnetic activity. But, I’ve never heard anything like it before in my life. It’s definitely not a boom box, as some suggest. Don’t want to hear it again either. Very creppy.
I heard the noises also, & I think it is from the big alignment of the planets that is coming sometime this year. It’s pulling the Earth from the poles & affecting our electro-magnetic field which woulde affect the Aurora Borealis. The first thing my boyfriend said when he heard it was that it sounded like a trumpet. That gave me chills all over my body!
The only thing that bothers me about this are the nuclear power plants that are going to be affected by it.

I heard it too… this morning around 7am to 2pm… It what we call as boom sound. At first I thought it from refrigerator but it’s not. I’ve heard the sound myself, but do not believe it’s the northern lights at all. They’ve been around for years, why know with the noises. Some of the things don’t add up from other news sights and what others have said about this. For me I’m in the middle of what to really think of the sound, the location moves and can seem real close or far off in the distance. That’s what makes it seem like a hoax or lie. I think if you just listen very carefully you will hear it. That is what I had to do. Also I think if these sounds are so called “Normal” and have been around for a long time, also the internet has been around for some time now. How come out of the blue we are recording and hearing these things.
