“Parks and Recreation” Wants You to Vote Yes For Knope

With Community off the air and The Office laboring to expel any remaining humor it has left, Parks and Recreation has become the unquestioned top comedy at NBC. With the network’s history of offering great viral websites in conjunction with their comedies’ storylines, it is no surprise Parks and Recreation has a viral presence. With season four’s overarching story line being Leslie Knope’s campaign for Pawnee city council, the official Leslie Knope campaign page has emerged as the main source of content for fans. Check out the site for yourself after the jump.

In a year of congressional and presidential campaigns in the real world, NBC is effectively focusing on creating viral content based off the Knope campaign. Knope2012.com resembles a traditional American campaign page, with its patriotic color scheme, links to social media pages, and platform of issues (and really, which political candidate isn’t calling for more dog parks?).

What makes the site so great though is that not only has nearly all the content been referenced on the show, but the site is making timely updates based off the latest episodes. Case in point, the current homepage touts Chief Trumple’s endorsement of the Knope campaign, as well as a downloadable mp3 of “Catch Your Dreams,” which were both plot points in the “Dave Returns” episode that aired this past Thursday.

Parks and Recreation continues its run as one of the best comedies on television Thursday nights on NBC.
