Trailers Weekly: “Paranormal Activity 4”, “Looper’, “The Master”, “The Silver Linings Playbook”, “Identity Thief”, “Stoker” Michael Lee, September 29, 2012December 27, 2012 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week provided us with so many trailers, so of course we will post our favorite ones this week, which includes Paranormal Activity 4, Looper, The Master, The Silver Linings Playbook, Identity Theft, and Stoker.Paranormal Activity 4 Yes the fourth chapter of the Paranormal Activity series is finally arriving in theaters this year. Are Hunter and Katie back? Is the boy causing deadly haunted mischief? Is the Xbox Kinect really possessed? Where is the great viral for this movie? All of those questions will be answered when you watch Paranormal Activity 4 on October 19th. The Master One of my top 10 of 2012. But Paul Thomas Anderson felt that some of the scenes used in the trailers and TV spots didn’t really mesh with the final cut. So he left those out and Cigarettes and Red Vines felt that it should all be put together for this wonderful sizzle reel. The Master is out now in theaters, and if you must, check it out in 70mm. Silver Linings Playbook The new Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence film made its official debut over at the Toronto International Film Festival this year and it was met with some high praise. Roberto De Niro seems to be back in full form with his supporting role, and I honestly want to know what Chris Tucker can do in the film. Silver Linings Playbook will open in theaters on November 21, 2012. Looper Rian Johnson‘s time traveling drama is out now in theaters and just in case those previous trailers weren’t enough to entice you to watch this incredible film, then maybe this new animated trailer will. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt. Identity Thief You might think that someone who steals your identity might be crafty or slightly intelligent, but not the characters involved in Identity Thief. Jason Bateman plays as a businessman who has the unfortunate luck of sharing his entire name with a dim-witted woman (Melissa McCarthy) who lives on the other side of the United States. Identity Thief opens in theaters on February 8th, 2013 Stoker In Chan Park-wook’s English language directorial debut, Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska play Evelyn and India (respectively), a mother and daughter grieving over the loss of the head of patriarchal family. Evelyn seems to want to oust India as soon as she graduates high school. Things only get more complicated when Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode) arrives, and both women are fighting for his affection. It just seems that India is fighting a lot harder. Wasikowska What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite? Do you agree with the Internet buzz? Of course, every week there are a lot more trailers, teasers, TV spots, and clips that we can’t cover, so go to TrailerAddict.com to see your favorites.
