First Trailer For “Iron Man 3” Is Explosive In More Ways Than One Michael Lee, October 23, 2012October 27, 2012 The first trailer for Iron Man 3 has finally arrived. The film is part of Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Directed and co-written by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 stars Robert Downey Jr., Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Ben Kingsley, and Gwyneth Paltrow. The film opens in theaters in 3D on May 3, 2013. Hit the jump to see it. The trailer basically is telling us that it is the new stepping stone for Phase 2, and shows us right off the bat that Tony Stark has been deeply affected by the devastation that Loki caused in New York in this year’s The Avengers. We have already seen a teaser and a slew of exciting images from the trailer. But none of that amounted to the sheer excitement that I’m sure every Marvel Comics fan is feeling after watching this trailer. Honestly detailing for you, wouldn’t do the trailer any justice, you really have to check this trailer out.But just in case you are into descriptions, we see that Tony Stark wants to do more than just be a hero. But a determined villain who goes by the name The Mandarin, is set out to prove that there are no such thing as heroes. A lot of what you are seeing in this trailer was previewed at Comic-Con earlier this year, especially those last few moments of helicopters bombarding Stark’s home with missiles. We can only hope that there will be some sort of viral campaign attached to this film leading up to its release. If there will be one, you can be sure we will be on top of it.Iron Man 3 hits theaters in 3D on May 3, 2013. So are you excited yet?
