Academy Awards Nominations Announced Dan Koelsch, January 10, 2013 Briefly: The nominations for the 85th Academy Awards were announced this morning, and while there weren’t too many surprises, I think the Academy mostly did well. Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln tops the list with 12 nominations, followed by Ang Lee’s Life of Pi with 11. I was glad to see Django Unchained nominated for Best Picture, but unfortunately the rumors of Skyfall joining the list did not come to fruition.
