Trailers Weekly: “Planes”, “The Conjuring”, “Oz The Great & Powerful”, “Oblivion”, & More Michael Lee, March 2, 2013March 2, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have trailers for Planes, The Conjuring, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, Oz The Great and Powerful, and Oblivion. Hit the jump to see them all. Planes Not the most subtle spin-off title, but if you’ve been missing out on watching Pixar titles, then you might not know what this is for. But if you do, then you’ll immediately recognize that it is for the spin-off of Cars. Dane Cook will voice Dusty, a crop duster who has dreams of being a better plane. The film originally started off as a straight-to-dvd, but has now been given the theatrical release treatment. The Conjuring Yet another based on true events film that centers on a family’s supposedly haunted house. Except that this one is directed by James Wan, so no one will spill gallons of blood, no one will be chased by a redundant horror fixture on the patio, no there will be a lot of supsense and a lot of people trying to catch their breath. This one hits theaters on July 19th Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 In 2009, Sony Animation came out with Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs. It was a success which spurred the decision to create a sequel. Bill Hader, Anna Faris and Will Forte are all back to voice characters, and it looks like they will venture into a world where the animal kingdom and your favorite foods merge together to create delicious but also vicious beasts. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 opens in theaters on September 27. Oz The Great & Powerful We are only six more days away from Sam Raimi’s viscerally visual flick, Oz The Great And Powerful. The film is a sort of prequel to The Wizard of Oz and follows Oscar Diggs a self centered wizard who gets transported to the land of oz and learns a lesson in humility when he is asked to defeat the Wicked Witch. The film stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Joey King, and Zach Braff. Oblivion The battle for Earth starts with Joseph Koinski’s Oblivion. Tom Cruise plays Jack, a satellite repairman who comes across a pod with a woman inside. Ordered not to open it, Jack releases the woman and from there everything he knows about himself and the world changes. The film opens in theaters on April 12.
