Trailers Weekly: “Pain & Gain”, “White House Down”, “Before Midnight”, “The Wolverine”, & “2 Guns” Michael Lee, March 30, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have trailers for Pain & Gain, White House Down, Before Midnight, The Wolverine, and 2 Guns. Hit the jump to see them all.Pain & Gain Michael Bay‘s so-called passion project is less than a month a way, so Paramount released a new hilarious red-band trailer for the film that’s based on a true story of a couple of weight-lifters who steal from a Miami tycoon. Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson, Anthony Mackie, and Rebel Wilson star. Pain & Gain opens in theaters on April 26th. White House Down Another Die Hard situation in the White House, only thing is, Roland Emmerich is directing it, and the day will be saved by Channing Tatum. We don’t know who is behind the White House destruction or why America is being targeted, but we do know that Jamie Foxx will play as the POTUS. The Wolverine Though the mutant cure story has already been explored, we’ve never seen The Wolverine affected by it. The film will attempt to see what would happen if The Wolverine didn’t have his mutant powers. The Wolverine takes places years after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand and takes the titular character to Japan. The film will be based on a story arc similar to the one Frank Miller wrote in the 1980s. The Wolverine opens in theaters on July 26. Before Midnight If you are looking forward to something that doesn’t go boom, then I might suggest Richard Linklater’s Before Midnight starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. The film is the follow up to the follow-up to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset and will show audiences where the couple is in their relationship that took three films to explore. Before Midnight hits theaters in May. 2 Guns An undercover DEA agent (Denzel Washington) and an undercover Navel officer (Mark Wahlberg) partner up to steal from a bank, only thing is both sides are playing each other and don’t know it, so when the two are forced to steal the money back it makes for some hilarious banter. Paula Patton and Bill Paxton also star. 2 Guns opens in theaters on August 2nd. What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite? Do you agree with the Internet buzz?
