First Poster and Trailer for “Elysium” Debut

Since we have been covering the film’s on-and-off viral campaign, we thought you’d like to see the first poster and first trailer for Elysium, which debuted yesterday and today, respectively. Check them out after the break.

Set in the year 2159, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man (Matt Damon) takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds. Elysium is written and directed by Neill Blomkamp, who made his feature debut with District 9. The film also stars Jodie Foster and Sharlto Copley. Catch the sci-fi epic when it hits theaters on August 9th.
