Trailers Weekly: “Fading Gigolo”, “The Wind Also Rises”, “A.C.O.D.”, and More Michael Lee, August 17, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Leslie Iwerks’ Untitled Disney Imagineering Documentary, Fading Gigolo, The Wind Also Rises,, and A.C.O.D.. Hit the jump for more.Leslie Iwerks’ Untitled Disney Imagineering Documentary Days after the D23 Expo ended, we learned that Academy Award and Emmy nominated director Leslie Iwerks was releasing a documentary on the designs and inspirations of the Disneyland parks. For those who don’t know who she is, Iwerks is the daughter of Disney Legend Don Iwerks and granddaughter of Ub Iwerks, the animator and co-creator of Mickey Mouse and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. The film is expected to be released in 2016 Fading Gigolo John Turturro’s directorial debut finds him playing a prostitute, with Woody Allen acting as his pimp. Also starring Sofia Vergara and Sharon Stone, this trailer is lighthearted and funny. Surely we are to see some sort of conflict about monetary gains and or relationships down the line, but that is for a later time. The film will make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival later this year. The Wind Also Rises Hayao Miyzaki‘s new film The Wind Rises has already debuted to stellar box office numbers in Japan, having claimed the number one spot for one full month. THe film is one of Miyzaki’s most contraversial ones as it focuses on the a pre WWII Japan, who fought in stupid wars, went the economic downturns of The Great Depression, and dealt with one of the most devastating earthquakes in recorded history. The film has no US release date as of yet, but it will make its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. A.C.O.D. The acronym stands for Adult Children Of Divorce. Adam Scott is one of two children who is going through the painful process of watching his mother and father go through a bitter divorce. On top of that he has to help his brother get married, and has just found out that his experience as an A.C.O.D. was just research for a book. There is plenty of heart and humor in this, and it looks like one of the better films to be closing out the year. The film also stars Richard Jenkins, Catherine O’Hara, Amy Poehler, Clark Duke, Jessica Alba, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jane Lynch. A.C.O.D. opens in theaters on October 4.
