“Godzilla” Teaser Trailer Has Finally Arrived Michael Lee, December 10, 2013December 10, 2013 Part of what got our interest in the new Godzilla, from director Gareth Edwards, is all of the viral potential it had. Leaked videos, conspiracy sites, taking SDCC attendees to experience the monster for themselves, and news reports of giant mysterious sinkholes, ideas on how to utilize the viral marketing for this film is boundless. We’ve been covering the viral marketing for this film for quite a while, up until the M.U.T.O site report that confirmed that the trailer would drop today. We M.U.T.O. (or WB’s marketing team) came through as the first trailer for Godzilla has debuted online. The trailer does a great job of doing what it is suppose to do. We don’t even get a real good look at Godzilla himself, but it is a much better on than the bootleg that popped up online a few months back. In fact the scene where an elite team of soldiers jumping out for a sucidie mission to handle the King Of Monsters, reminds me a lot of the team that jumped out of the plane in Transformers Dark Of The Moon.Godzilla stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, and David Strathairn. The film opens in theaters on May 16.Gareth Edwards Announcment Trailer Trailers Weekly Aaron JohnsonElizabeth OlsenGareth EdwardsGodzillaWarner Bros. MUTO
