Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Snowpiercer, Annie, What If, This Is Where I Leave You, and The Equalizer. Hit the jump to see them all.
Snowpiercer
Unlike some of the sunnier superhero films that generally appear during the summer blockbuster season, Bong Joon-Ho‘s The Snowpiercer is a colder and much more bleaker material that is sure to make you look at Chris Evans a different way. Evans plays the film’s protagonist, a young and strong passenger of the tail end section of a continuously running train that keeps the passengers aboard safe from the harsh man-made sub-zero temperatures. The film also stars John Hurt, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, Kang-ho Song, Ah-sung Ko, Tilda Swinton, Alison Pill, and Ed Harris. The film opens in theaters on June 27.
This Is Where I Leave You
Provided that This Is Where I Leave You deals with some pretty depressing issues, the film is actually uplifting thanks in part to the comedic stylings of Shawn Levy. In the film a dysfunctional family is forced to reunite for a whole week when their father dies. Of course this brings up old feuds, old flames reignited, and other sorts of problems only a reunited dysfunctional family could have. This Is Where I Leave You stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard, and Jane Fonda. The film opens in theaters on September 12.
The Equalizer
Denzel Washington stars as the titular character in The Equalizer. Based on the 80s tv series of the same name, Washington plays a formers special ops agent who fights for those who cannot fight for themselves pro-bono. Chloe Grace Moretz also stars. The film opens in theaters on September 26.
What If
Daniel Radcliff has played a wizard, a poet, and a devil, but now we get to see him in a role that we rarely see him in, a leading man in a romcom. He stars as a young man who has given up on love only to find out he will try to win the affections of Zoe Kazan. What If opens on August 1.
Annie
Based on the beloved musical of the same name, Annie is receiving a contemporary revamp. Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and Quvenzhané Wallis star. The film opens on Christmas Day 2014.
