‘The Good Lie’ Featurette Takes A Look At The True Story That Inspired The Film Michael Lee, September 19, 2014September 19, 2014 Reese Witherspoon is already making some awards buzz thanks in part to her performance in Wild, but that film doesn’t hit theaters until December 5. But she starring in another film called The Good Lie, and Warner Bros has just released a new featurette to help promote the film.The featurette takes a look at the true story that inspired the film, and once you watch it, you get a sense of the overall tone almost immediately. It’s going to be one of those feel good films that shows us there is still good in the world. Hit the jump to check it out.Directed by Philippe Falardeau The Good Lie also stars Arnold Oceng, Ger Duany, Emmanuel Jal, Nyakuoth Weil, and Corey Stoll. Drama. They were known simply as “The Lost Boys.”Orphaned by the brutal civil war in Sudan which began in 1983, these young victims traveled as many as a thousand miles on foot in search of safety. Fifteen years later, a humanitarian effort would bring 3600 lost boys and girls to America. In “The Good Lie,” Philippe Falardeau, writer and director of the Oscar–nominated Foreign Language film “Monsieur Lazhar,” brings the story of their survival and triumph to life.
