Studios are always looking for interesting ways to engage audiences and entice them to purchase tickets. Scavenger hunt viral marketing, fun and puzzling websites, even revealing your secrets anonymously on ominous websites, marketing teams are thinking of clever ways to keep audiences engaged in more ways than just dropping a trailer. One of the upcoming marketing campaigns is the Oculus Rift.
The 3D device is an immersive experience that puts the user inside of the world of whatever the marketing team is promoting. There has been one for Game of Thrones, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, and Pacific Rim. But Oculus Rift couldn’t be more perfect for Christopher Nolan‘s Interstellar.
Appearing at only four cities, the Interstellar Oculus Rift will launch next week for a limited time before heading to its new major city destination. Hit the jump to see where you can see it.

For the first time ever, the virutal world of filmmakers Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated new film will be available to the public in select AMC Theatre locations featuring IMAX screens. People can sit down, strap in, and immerse themselves as they travel through the “Endurance” spacecraft in zero gravity through a custom Interstellar Oculus Rift Experience.
Now for those who have already stepped foot into the Oculus Rift, they probably can attest to each one being different than the next. So if you experienced the X-Men Days of Future Past Occulus Rift Experience, then it will be different from that of Pacific Rim. So it should be interesting to see what it will be like for Interstellar.
