‘Tomorrowland’ Trailer: George Clooney Takes Us To A Miraculous Place Michael Lee, October 9, 2014October 9, 2014 Walt Disney Studios has just released the first trailer for Tomorrowland, directed by Brad Bird, featuring a screenplay written co-written by Bird and Damon Lindelof. Much of the film has been kept a secret, but from what we’ve learned through early teases, viral marketing, and the D23 expo, the film was said to be be an early look at the sci-fi oddities that people were fascinated with in the early days of the sci-fi genre. The film was actually scheduled for a December 2014 release, until it was pushed back to its new summer 2015 release.The film centers on a former boy genius (George Clooney) who teams up with a troubled but bright and optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) and set off on a quest to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” The film also stars Hugh Laurie,Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson. Plus Clooney sells it with asking us if she wanted to go to a place where people can change the world.One has to wonder if the Disney marketing team will revive the viral marketing campaign during production. Remember, that campaign took viral campaigners to many sites aht were significant to Disney history. It also had interesting websites that took us into the world of Tomorrowland.
