‘The Shaggy Man’ At “Repo Men” Screening, MovieViral On the Hunt Nick Butler, March 18, 2010April 7, 2010 Dan Koelsch, the Executive Editor of MovieViral.com, is currently attending a screening of Repo Men in Orange County, CA. While waiting in line, he was handed a map to find “The Shaggy Man.” The map contained a sequence of numbers and letters randomly spread out all across the Irvine Spectrum Center where the screening is taking place. Could this be the Groundswell clue? You can check out the map and what we know so far after the jump.Right now, we’re working on it’s meaning, but the map is an overview of the Irvine Spectrum Center. There seems to be a relation between the letters and numbers, each letter of the alphabet representing a random number. Once decoded, it comes out: 7, 13, 7, 3, 4, 5, 10, 3, 6, 8, 3, 1, 16, 18, 3, 8, 3, 6, 1, 6, 4, 5, 11, 9, 12, 7. Below is the map.(click for full size)We’re working with other Repo Men to find out what this could lead to. We’ve got Dan on the ground, and hopefully we can crack this by the end of the night. Send any information you have to NickButler[at]MovieViral.com or leave it in the comments below. Viral Marketing Repo menscreeningshaggy man

Sorry, couldn’t find him. He’ll be there tomorrow (Friday) at 7pm, so if you’re in the area, meet up with me and we can keep looking! I’ll be wearing a bright yellow Lakers shirt.
Look out for Dan, he’ll be wearing a Lakers shirt and some fetching red nail varnish by the looks of it!
My friend and I got to the screening early, and ended up being the first in line. The girl came to hand out the flyers and we had no idea what the Shaggy Man was. We decided (we like puzzles) to give it a shot and did our best with no knowledge of what we were really doing.I realized quickly that every letter was represented in the map, but numbers repeated, this means you are mostly likely using the letters as a cypher to give you a number of some kind.We searched google on his phone and found a repo site explaining the search for the Shaggy Man, we tried every word or phrase that made sense and discovered its number equivalent. The one that made the most sense in this case was O-Magnet. The corresponding number was 3 16 7 10 18 4 6. This was kind of what I was hoping to find, a ten digit number. We called it, (316) 710-1846 and were dissapointed to see that it was not in service. But when the call ended, I noticed it said the number was to KS, USA. Kansas. This seems too coincidental. My friend went out to scour the Spectrum for any clue as to where the Shaggy Man was. Couldn’t find anything and had to come back to see Repo Men.After the movie, and back at home, we took another look, the only other number that made sense to me to come up with was a three digit number corresponding to the building there at the Spectrum. We finally decoded “To Find The Shaggy Man”, which is at the top of the paper, and adding all of the numbers together got 138. Problem was, no 138. Their numbering skips most of the 130’s. The 316 area code seems too coincidental to not be important, maybe if you call it tonight around 7:00 PM it will be functioning? I am extremely interested to know how you learned that the Shaggy Man would be there at 7:00 PM tonight.Last piece of info, on the @TheShaggyMan Twitter account his posts indicated going to a birthday party, the wiki for the original Shaggy Man states:“Arriving in the Land of Oz, they found that their journey was prearranged so that Dorothy could attend a birthday party for Princess Ozma”He could in some way, be at or near a party.Truly the last piece, the map they gave us is of a picture of a directory, specifically if you check the reflection, the directory near Kiddie Kandids, a store that closed in January which is near H&M. Good luck everyone!
Well I see on the site now how you know he’s going to be there tonight, but I don’t know how you got 7:00 PM, unless ARGUS said so.
Some people cracked the code on the map, and it revealed a message “meetyourtargetfordinnerat7″(I believe that’s the translation, it’s that or something similar) so we aren’t sure if it means 7PM or 7 on the map. We came extremely close to finding him yesterday, within 5 minutes, probably.
Okay, I just went through the code crack and came up with the same. H&M (7Z) is tricky, it could be 7:00 PM at H&M, or if you repeat count it could be H. The Kiddie Kandid I mentioned from the reflection on the map is right next to H&M. Should be fun. Thanks for the reply Nick.
i just found this. Think it is set up by the produuction company or just a fan scamming everyone?http://twitter.com/TheShaggyMan
