Two Cast Members Revealed for Super 8 Dan Koelsch, September 17, 2010September 17, 2010 While Super 8, the sci-fi film being produced by J.J. Abrams and Steven Spielberg, may be under a cloud of secrecy (like almost all of Abrams’ projects), we are starting to see bits of light shine through. We’ve already been clued in to the shooting location in West Virginia, and now two cast members have been revealed. Who are they? Find out after the break. Vulture has found out that Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning have been cast in the film, which looks to center around an alien or other creature that escapes a cargo train going from Area 51 to a military base in Ohio. We do not yet know the roles they are playing, there is a clue for one of them. (photos via Vulture) Chandler, who just happens to turn 45 today, is probably best known for his role as Coach Eric Taylor on the soon-to-be-over television drama Friday Night Lights. 12 year old Fanning is the sister of acclaimed actress Dakota, though she herself has a decent resume, such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. What role will she play? There may be a clue in the leaked casting notice we found in May. Here’s one of the roles:NATALIE: Female 13-14. A natural beauty – she is stunning, but not the “cheerleader” type. Strong and confident, but has an underlying sadness. Should have a Midwestern feel. We’ll see Fanning plays this role, as it is too early to tell. However, it looks very likely. Follow our complete coverage of Super 8 on our Super 8 Viral Page.
