Find The “Red Lights” In Interactive Video With Sigourney Weaver Dan Koelsch, June 4, 2012June 4, 2012 The paranormal thriller Red Lights has a limited release in the US on July 13th, and to promote the appropriately scheduled Friday the 13th release, Millennium Entertainment has released an interactive video with star Sigourney Weaver. Check it out after the break. In the film, Weaver plays a paranormal researcher along with Cillian Murphy. The two debunk paranormal and psychic events, but when a legendary psychic, played by Robert De Niro, comes out of retirement, they have their work cut out for them. In the video, Weaver explains what “red lights” are, and you have to try to find the ones that are in the video. When you click on the corresponding annotations, you get taken another video where Weaver gives you a half-assed explanation about what you are really seeing. While I like the idea, the execution is pretty terrible. While I understand that finding the “red lights” can’t be that difficult, their videos aren’t even unlisted, so you can just find them in the list of First Look Studios’ videos. The videos’ explanations for what we are seeing could be much more detailed, for instance having different shots to give us a clearer picture of the optical illusions. There just doesn’t seem to be much effort put into all of this. That’s just my opinion. What do you think?Source: Bloody Disgusting Viral Marketing Viral Videos Red LightsViral video

My tweet was used by WB for The Conjuring last year. But if a film is critically panned, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a marketing team resort to using tweets on… Read More
