Contest: “Game of Thrones” Comic-Con Swag Bag

Dan Koelsch, July 26, 2012August 4, 2012

While I myself have not seen or read Game of Thrones in any of its incarnations, both the HBO television show and novel series (A Song of Ice and Fire) are wildly popular. Thus, the panel for the series at San Diego Comic-Con this year was one of the highlights of the Friday Hall H schedule, as evidenced by the throngs of people leaving the room when it was over. While I felt left out of the excitement, I didn’t leave empty handed. Find out how you can win the swag bag those who attended got at Comic-Con after the break.

All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me why I should watch Game of Thrones. I’ll choose a winner based on my favorite response. The contest runs until Wednesday, August 1st at 11:59PM PDT, and is only open to US residents. Please remember to provide a way for us to contact you, such as logging into Disqus (where we can see your email).

Below is the list of items in the package, as well as photos.

– “Game of Thrones” drawstring bag
– “Game of Thrones” House Lannister sigil shield keychain
– “A Clash of Kings” by George R. R. Martin, the 2nd book in the series
– “The North Remembers” Blank notebook
– House Lannister sigil t-shirt (size Large)
– One month XBOX Live Gold Membership

The nominations for this year’s Golden Globes were announced yesterday. Without surprise, the same actors who seemingly are nominated every year for their work are represented again. Only this time, it appears one nomination for Meryl Streep wasn’t enough. You should watch AND read Game of Thrones because, “Old stories are like old friends…You have to visit them from time to time”…as Old Nan used to say. Enough said. So go ahead, time for a visit into a story you will definitely revisit again and again…

Cos its essentially Lord Of The Rings with sex, gore and zombies.  And they say “c*nt” a lot.  What could be better! And the cast… oh my god.
