Buffer Festival Is First Festival Dedicated To YouTube Content

Do you like film festivals but wish they had something like that for YouTube videos? YouTuber Corey Vidal is making that dream a reality with Buffer Festival. The festival is being held in Toronto from November 8th to 10th, and you can read more details about it in the press release after the break.

Corey Vidal Launches The World’s First Festival Dedicated To Celebrating YouTube Content

Thousands Of YouTube Fans And Stars To Descend On Toronto

For Buffer Festival, Nov. 8-10, 2013

 

TORONTO (September 4, 2013) – Well known Canadian YouTuber Corey Vidal and ApprenticeA Productions launch the world’s first festival dedicated to showcasing video content from some of the best creative talent on YouTube. Buffer Festival will be held at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Scotiabank Theatre, Glenn Gould Studio, and the Jane Mallett Theatre from Friday, November 8 – Sunday, November 10, 2013.

 

“I am very excited to combine the YouTube experience with a theatrical setting. There is so much incredible content being made specifically for YouTube, and as a full-time YouTuber I am delighted to showcase some of that talent,” Corey Vidal, Executive Producer and Founder of Buffer Festival and President of ApprenticeA Productions, said.

 

The festival will include 50 feature-length shows over 3 days, with two different types of show: themed screenings that highlight YouTube content across broad genres, and screenings presented by celebrity YouTubers, showcasing bodies of work from fellow full-time YouTube creators, who are also set to premiere new content. Festival-goers will experience a wide variety of high-quality video content and will meet the world’s biggest Canadian and international YouTube stars.

 

The festival is presented by ApprenticeA Productions and co-produced with the Canadian Film Centre’s Media Lab (CFC Media Lab), with a variety of partners from leading companies and brands invested in the new era of digital video content including: YouTube, Contiki, Blue Ant Media, Canon, TIFF Next Wave Committee, Cineplex Entertainment, and InsideDigital.org.

 

The full schedule will be released September 23rd, but here’s a sneak preview listing some of the YouTube celebrities lined up to attend the world’s first Buffer Festival (full list available on www.bufferfestival.com):

Tickets to the shows will be available on September 26th 2013 and are $15 for individual screenings, with package deals available. Tickets will be available online at www.bufferfestival.com or for purchase directly from the TIFF Bell Lightbox box office.
