Trailers Weekly: “Neighbors”, “Man of Tai Chi”, “Runner, Runner”, “Kill Your Darlings”, and “Robocop” Michael Lee, September 7, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Robocop, Kill Your Darlings, Neighbors, Man of Tai Chi, and Runner, Runner. Hit the jump to see them all.Neighbors Zac Efron has gone from heartthrob to a complete douche, and I say that with good intentions, because he plays a frat boy who gets into a neighborly war with a happy couple played by Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne. Directed by Nick Stoller, Neighbors opens in theaters on May 9, 2014. Man of Tai Chi Keanu Reeves makes his directorial debut with the intensive fight thriller Man of Tai Chi. Reeves who also has a role in the film as the villain, persuades a young and upcoming fighter (Tiger Chen) to fight for power and money. But fighter’s spirit begins to sway and he learns the truth about fighting. Radius-TWC releases the film this fall starting on November 1st. Runner, Runner The final trailer for Brad Furman‘s Runner, Runner arrived earlier this week. The film places Justin Timberlake on opposite ends of Ben Affleck. Timberlake is a struggling college student to turns to illegal gambling to help with his financial troubles, and simultaneously gets turned into an FBI informant. Affleck will play a powerful businessman who runs the illegal gambling ring. Fox will release Runner, Runner into theaters on September 27. Kill Your Darlings This film is the untold story of murder that brought together a young Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe), Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston) and William Burroughs (Ben Foster) at Columbia University in 1944, providing the spark that led to the birth of the Beat generation. Elizabeth Olsen, Dane DeHaan, and Michael C. Hall also star. Sony Pictures Classics has set Kill Your Darlings for limited October 18th release. Robocop We covered Robocop while we were at Comic-Con earlier this year, and while the footage did look great and the political twist does provide an interesting take on the character, the toned down ratings and the the uninspired look for the actual Robocop itself doesn’t bode too well for the film. We’ll just have to sit and wait to see if it pans out as Sony Pictures sends the film to theaters on February 7th, 2014. What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite?
