Trailers Weekly: “Mortdecai,” “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby,” “Wetlands,” “Pride,” And More Michael Lee, August 16, 2014 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Pride, Mortdecai, Revenge of the Green Dragons, The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby, and Wetlands. Hit the jump to see them all. Pride The Cannes Film Festival favorite centers on the real life story of LGBT activists and striking miners in 1980s Britain. The film stars Paddy Considine, Andrew Scott, Imelda Staunton, Bill Nighy, and Dominic West. It is said that the tone is akin to the likes of Billy Elliot and Pirate Radio. CBS Films has Pride scheduled to open September 19. Mortdecai Johnny Depp is back, but has yet to prove to us he is the box office wonder he once was. In the film, Depp plays the titular Mortdecai, an art thief who believes that the latest target may lead to nazi gold. While this may look to be like some ordinary crime caper, there is a little twist to it by making Mortdecai somewhat of a moron. And the film has an impressive supporting cast that consists of Paul Bettany, Olivia Munn, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ewan McGregor. Lionsgate will release the film on February 6. Revenge Of The Green Dragons From Executive Producer Martin Scorsese comes Revenge of the Green Dragons, based on the true story, the film comes from Infernal Affairs director Andrew Lau, and is co-directed by Andrew Loo. Revenge Of The Green Dragons follows two immigrant brothers Sonny (Justin Chon) and Steven (Kevin Wu) who survive the impoverished despair of New York in the 1980s by joining Chinatown gang. A24 Films will release Revenge Of The Green Dragons in October. The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby I’m really interested in The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. The film, starring James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain, is actually two films called Him and Her, and follows the relationship of two different lovers through the respective eyes. While previous trailers have only shown the full film, this international trailer is the first to use footage from Him and Her. Wetland Eighteen year-old Helen Memel (Carla Juri) likes to skateboard, masturbate with vegetables and thinks that body hygiene is greatly overrated. Struggling with her parents’ divorce, she spends her time experimenting and breaking one social taboo after the other with her best friend, Corinna (Marlen Kruse). When a shaving accident lands her in the hospital, she sees it as a way to reconcile her parents, but ends up forming an unlikely bond with her male nurse, Robin (Christoph Letkowski) in the process.Wetlands opens limited on September 5 Which was your favorite?
