‘Inside Out’ Trailer: Pixar Proves That Emotions Can Be Characters Too Michael Lee, December 10, 2014December 10, 2014 The first trailer for Pixar’s Inside Out, directed by Pete Docter, was released not to long ago. Normally we wouldn’t see a second trailer so soon, but given that the first trailer was just an announcement of sorts, this new trailer reminds us what the animation studio has in store for us.Inside Out recently added Kyle MacLachlan and Diane Lane as the parents of Riley, who is going through the phases of growing up. The new trailer provides brand new footage, gives us a better look into the world of being inside one’s mind. The trailer resembles what we at D23 last year, where the mother was subtly/desperately trying to communicate to the father that their daughter, Riley, is acting strange. Of course while the mother sees this, the father has other things on his mind.Featuring the voice talents of Amy Poehler, Lewis Black, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, and Phyllis Smith, Inside Out opens in theaters on June 19, 2014.Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it’s no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions – Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley’s main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.
