Thus, you need to find a way to separate yourself from the bunch. ARGs and viral campaigns are one way to do that, but you can do it on a much simpler, one time basis. You drive by them everyday, usually not even noticing them, until someone decides to do something a bit interesting. Yes, I’m talking about creative billboards. The Huffington Post has a list of 11 Billboards that truely stand out, which include the ones for Kill Bill 2 and Law & Order seen below. Check out the article for the other non-entertainment ones. The list of course neglects the great District 9 billboards we saw this summer, but nonetheless, these are really cool. We sometimes forget viral is really about getting people to notice and talk about the advertising, and that’s what these billboards do, even if it its for something as boring as insurance.
