Paramount Open Casting Call Possibly for Super 8? Dan Koelsch, May 28, 2010 Peter from Slashfilm got an email from Paramount Pictures regarding an open casting call for child actors for an upcoming feature film. Could this be for J.J. Abrams’ Super 8, which has yet to start filming? There are definitely some components that match up to Super 8. First of all, the rumor is that the film’s plot revolves around “the possibility that a group of kids in 1979 are playing around making movies with their Super 8 cameras (as Abrams and Spielberg did as kids) and accidentally capture something … sinister, on film.” The unnamed Paramount film is looking for three actors all around 13-14 years old. Also, the notice calls for all the kids “Should have a Midwestern feel”, and we know that the teaser implies that the monster/alien/Hulk is let loose in or near Ohio. Granted, Paramount is large studio with many films being made at one time, and the information provided is rather generic. Are we looking too deeply into this?
