The Buzz: Les Grossman Movie In The Works, The Flash Being Written, Breaking Dawn Split, and More!

The Buzz is a feature in which we round up the biggest and most popular film and television stories of the week. Why go through pages of blogs just to find out what everyone is talking about? We’ve got it all right here. Check out all the stories after the break.

Comic Book News

Comic book movie news is starting to become a staple of The Buzz. We once again had a lot of updates this week, as the Spider-Man reboot rumors continue to run rampant. The supposed “short list” of potential Peter Parkers now includes , Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), and Jamie Bell (Jumper). Another Marvel film franchise owned by someone else, 20th Century Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, supposedly has its title: Fantastic Four Reborn. Also, we get our first video from the Thor set, courtesy of Entertainment Tonight. Check out their featurette below.

Let’s not forget about DC movies. Green Lantern writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim are already writing a treatment for the sequel to the film, as well as for The Flash. However, apparently only one will be used. This whole situation is a bit weird, especially since the FIRST Green Lantern film is over a year away from being released. Also, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World has some cool character posters for the seven evil exes.

Sequel News

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, the final film in the series, will be split up into two films. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the novel it’s based on is almost 800 pages, and this just means more money for Summit Entertainment.

– After looking dead in the water, The Bourne series looks to be back on as writer Tony Gilroy is working on a treatment for the fourth film in the series, tentatively titled The Bourne Legacy.

– The fifth Die Hard movie has a title, Die Hard 24/7. AICN has a great story about how the name came about. Apparently, the original idea was to have a 24 crossover with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) and John McClane (Bruce Willis) working together! If only.

– In what is more of a spin-off than a sequel, Tom Cruise’s character from Tropic Thunder, Les Grossman, is getting his own movie. As we’ve reported, Cruise brought back the popular character for the MTV Movie Awards, and the buzz was enough to make this move.

USA Today visited the set of Transformers 3 and got some plot details. Fortunately, the controversial robot twins are gone, and the ridiculously stupid “comedy” from the first two is going away. The plot also goes into the Cold War era and the USSR, trying to create more of a mystery. It seems promising.
