Trailers Weekly: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Rango, Let Me In, and Space Battleship Yamato

Dan Koelsch, July 3, 2010July 3, 2010

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we already showed you the first trailer for Paranormal Activity 2. Now we have trailers for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Rango, Let Me In, and Space Battleship Yamato after the break.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

The biggest trailer of the week was that of the series finale for Harry Potter. It’s the first trailer for the film (which is being split into two parts), and it looks pretty intense. Part 1 comes out November 19th.

Rango

Paramount’s Rangois ILM’s first animated film, and it stars Johnny Depp as a chameleon with an identity crisis in the Mojave desert. The photo realism is actually a bit off-putting to me, but it looks funny. Rango opens in theaters on March 11th, 2011.

Let Me In

This is the first trailer for Let Me In, directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), which is a remake of the 2008 Swedish vampire horror film Let the Right One In. Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) stars in what looks to be this faster-paced version, due out October 1st.

Space Battleship Yamato

This is the first full trailer for Space Battleship Yamato, a live-action Japanese movie based on the popular anime series of the same name (released as Star Blazers in the US). The film will be released in Japan on December 1st, but no US date (if there even will be one) has been announced.

Of course, every week there are a lot more trailers, teasers, TV spots, and clips that we can’t cover, so go to TrailerAddict.com to see your favorites, and to watch at least some of the ones above in High Definition. You can also download trailers in HD at Apple.com. Saw a trailer this week that you loved? Let us know in the comments below!
