The Walking Dead “Spread the Dead” Contest Joey Sharpe, October 22, 2010 Recently AMC has created a new tactic in order to promote its new series The Walking Dead. In case you don’t already know, The Walking Dead is a new show produced by Frank Darabont about a group of survivors and the aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. The show is premiering on AMC and is based on Robert Kirkman’s hit zombie comic book series of the same name. AMC’s big promotion for the series is a new contest called “Spread the Dead“. In this contest you have to get as many people as you can to click your number specific link in order to receive “exposure points”. The more people who click on your link, the more points you have, the better chance you have at winning a prize. Oh yes, this contest has awesome prizes. There are 2 different parts to this contest, the first is a random drawing for a grand prize of $5,000 and 2 $2,500 1st prizes. The second part of this contest, which is where the number specific links come in, is for the top 15 point earners. These elite 15 men and women will receive a Walking Dead prize pack worth about $50 a piece. I recommend that anyone reading this article right now go to and sign up ASAP to get your shot at one of these amazing prizes. Make sure you keep an eye on the leader board at “Spread the Dead” because things are already heating up. In only 3 days, users named Murr and dannylandulf have already racked up over 1000 points putting them ahead of the crowd by about 500 points. Other notable things the site has are a trailer for the new show, a countdown for the show, and a map of the United States showing who’s been exposed. Be sure to watch AMC at 10/9C to catch the 90 minute premier of the awesome new zombie tv show The Walking Dead.
