Auction Underway to Workout With Wolverine

Alex Gerage, November 5, 2010

Get ready to bid on one of the coolest auctions of all time. CharityBuzz is currently offering the chance to workout with Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, in a private New York City gym as he prepares to film X Men Origins: Wolverine 2. If you have an affinity for exercise, Mr. Jackman, and have several thousand dollars to spare, you might want to hit the jump and check out the details of this auction.

You can view all of the details regarding the auction at the CharityBuzz website, but here a description of the auction:

He didn’t get to be People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” — or Wolverine — by sitting on the sidelines. Hugh Jackman is known for his incredible physique (those shoulders, those abs!) as well as for being one of the nicest guys around. Soon, he’ll be getting ready for X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2 and literally transforming his body into that of Wolverine. And he wants you to join him in the gym and begin your own transformation!

One lucky winner will work out with Hugh Jackman in one training session in the early AM at a private gym in Manhattan sometime between Fall 2010 and Spring 2011.

– Train side-by-side for one hour with Hugh and his fitness guru Don Scott of Jim Karas Personal Training — the same team who was responsible for whipping Hugh into shape for X-Men: The Last Stand.
– After getting your butt kicked, take home a personalized nutrition regimen complete with workout tips so you can live what you’ve learned at the hands of these icons of fitness.

Bid today — and if you’re lucky, you’ll win one of the toughest training sessions of your life courtesy of the one and only Hugh Jackman.

The proceeds for this item benefit Global Poverty Project.

The current bid is $2,850, but with still a week remaining in the auction, that price is sure to go up in the 6 days left of the auction. I remember when X-Men Origins: Wolverine was released last year, a lot was written about Jackman’s insanely intense workouts and physical preparation for the role. As a fitness buff and huge fan of Jackman as an actor, I think it would be an amazing experience to actually train with him.  As a loan-strapped grad student though, I surely know better than to bid. Nevertheless, that leaves it open to all you MovieViral readers to win it.
