Check Out The “TRON: Legacy” Light Show In Norway

Dan Koelsch, December 13, 2010

Disney is pulling out all the stops in promoting Friday’s theatrical opening of TRON: Legacy around the world. Last weekend saw a projection light show in London, and now the Mouse House has put on another light show in Norway, this time at the Indekshuset building in Oslo. Check out the video from the show after the break.

Here is the Google Translated version of the video’s description on YouTube:

Never before performed in Scandinavia:
Spectacular sound and light show to Solli Plass in Oslo

In connection with the launch of the blockbuster film Tron Legacy served us an audio-visual experience for 5 minutes at Index House in Oslo. The Norwegian composer and sound artist Sebastian Aker, was given free rein to develop an experience that makes the hairs stand up even further on a cold December day.

Accompanied by Daft Punks new song Derezzed, the LED lights up Indekshuset from the inside.
The building appears as a giant pixeled big screen! Just two days before the event began Concert Systems to rig the show and tested throughout the weekend. Inspired by Daft Punks music and movie Tron Legacy’s cold and electronic universe, has the 24-year young sound artist and electro-acoustic composer Sebastian Aker directed to the 5-minute-long fireworks of sound and light. In collaboration with the Walt Disney Company and the Nordic machine, JCP was responsible for the production and implementation.

Simple yet exciting technology makes it possible. The 1000 meter signal cable and 80 LEDs Built illuminated from the inside. Each office window was a single LED lamp, and is thus as one unique pixel. A total of 80 offices lit up from inside. From the outside, built like a giant big screen with 80 pixels.

Each lamp with 648 diodes were installed in each of the office window, a total of 51,840 diodes, which can create all sorts of colors. Each lamp produces 2400 lux lysbytte at 1 meter distance. In comparison, produces a 60 watt light bulb 60 lux at the same distance. Total so therefore did not show more power than the three coffee makers!
