Watch Two Alternate Openings For “The Social Network”

David at /Film has found two alternative opening credits scenes for David Fincher’s The Social Network that were considered, with the difference being mostly the music. While the final version included Trent Reznor’s track, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin originally wanted Paul Young’s cover of “Love for the Common People”, while Fincher wanted Elvis Costello’s “Beyond Belief” long enough to edit the scene with it. Watch a fan’s creation using Young’s song, then an official cut using “Beyond Belief” after the break.

Obviously these would have created different tones to start off the movie, and I think Reznor’s track is better suited for the story they were telling. What do you think?
